KING and QUEEN of Cross RESULTS 2008

After 36 hours of straight cross...set-up...organize..build...race...teardown...I can sit back and smile. What a great race. I have to say this years race took more hours than I could have imagined. The 2 mile course was huge. But the reward of a KICK butt course and 10 minute laps was well worth the hard work.

So if you didn't make it to the 1st ANNUAL KING/QUEEN of Cross.... you probably didn't race this weekend....or if you did.......... but not here........ you gave up your chance to become Royalty.

2008 - Pocatello Cyclocross has come and gone. Kings and Queens were crowned for the first time ever here in the Gate City.

I want to a say a huge "thank you" to the racers that made the drive to Pocatello and brought with them the enthusiasm for CX. Also, a huge thanks to the tons of Volunteers that made the race happen. A special thanks to ISU -Shepperds Club for all of the hard work... you guys rocked.
Thanks to http://www.monaviecannondale.com/ and Sports Base Events for the TRAILER and MUSIC!
Thanks to ZAC BIDWELL our local FELT/PowerBAR/Fox rep. for all the killer swag.
Thanks to Cyclocross Magazine for the the free issues and subscriptions for prizes. I had people tackling each other to get a copy.
Thanks to Rob's Ride on BIKES. For the great gift certificates, tires and misc. swag. Also Barrie's for all the great prizes. SO if you need a new cross bike call Rob's or Barries! Buy a Felt and be sure to eat tons of POWER Bars... Support the great companies and shops that help us make this race kick a**.
Race results are below. Let me know if there are any mistakes. I will fix them..

See you next year! I have more pictures. I will post them shortly.

IN 2009 I hope to crown more Royalty. The goal of KING/QUEEN of cross is to gather cross racers from all the mountain states, and have a race where we can all get together and suffer. I can't wait to see you all back next year. Bring your friends and spread the word.

Shouldn't it be illegal to win your own race?? Isn't that like...cheating, or something??

Hey Sam, you know I don't race cross, but if I lived ANYWHERE near Idaho I would have shown up for this one =)

Looks like you put on a quality race with a really cool finish line blow-up thingy (Wiley said he would like to ride his bike through it...then climb on top of it). Jealous of those who got to race that day!

This years course was awesome! Thanks for putting together such a great race. Sorry SLC didn't represent more.

I missed getting Lincoln's on the run-ups like we did last year, but this year's course was a big improvement.

Great pics and congrats to all, especially Wayne (got a soft spot for the single speeders!).
